The Eyes in the Sky
Fast forward to 3 years ago and I was with my friend at a Kava bar in Tempe. We had two drinks and walked it off at the cemetery across the street. On our way out, I felt a sudden sense of peace wash over me. An unusual amount. All worries faded. Roughly ten seconds later, my friend starts looking up at the sky in utter disbelief. But I saw nothing out of the ordinary. My friend is just staring into the sky saying
"What is that?! What the fuck IS that?!"
On the way home my friend was still pretty shaken up, and he starts describing in detail a "V" shaped craft with five or seven lights under it. He said that while the thing was above us my eyes were glossed over, and I was "not there." I ended up searching his description of the craft and that's how I first heard of the Phoenix Lights. I showed him the first image that popped up, and he said it was rather accurate, not completely but close. The image I showed him was a hand drawn image from what looked like an old newspaper article. Then I ended up going down a rabbit hole of documentaries and web results. I was obsessed for many months, trying to find more information beyond the typical slow, silent and hovering, with maybe 7 glowing lights, give or take 2, and a boomerang shaped black craft. My friend has a knack for making the real seem surreal. He has a better understanding of light than me. He showed me his rendition(above) of what he saw, and it was a boomerang shaped craft with 5 or seven lights, all angles at 90 degrees, and dim lights. It was a very dark blue sky, not quite indistinguishable from black. One peculiar detail though was the wings were beginning to dissolve, as if cloaking itself back into the shadows as it slowly passed over. And when the day began, neither of us knew anything about The Phoenix Lights.
My friend saw the craft, not just a pattern of lights. I felt peace seconds before it passed over and going from his visual depiction, I can absolutely see that it was easy to miss. One thing is for certain, neither of us heard it.
