The Ripple Effect
If I toss a pebble into the pond, it's going to scare fish in the immediate area. Their expression spreads panic. Now the mosquitoes that were getting eaten by the scared fish are free of immediate danger. They will act accordingly and start their own ripple effect. The fish that swam from the pebble, are now rushing towards the back of the pond while a fisherman who hasn't caught anything all day suddenly lands a ten pounder. This fisherman is homeless and hasn't had a decent meal in far too long. His eyes well with joy, and that night he takes his catch back to camp and feeds everyone. He feels good inside and gets a good night's rest and wakes up with the rising sun.
But all I did was throw a pebble.
